For more than 50 years, Allied Packing & Rubber, Inc. in Long Beach, CA has been providing gaskets and packing to a broad range of businesses and governmental agencies, earning a reputation for solving difficult sealing solutions that other suppliers might not be able to come up with.
In 2016 it professionally upgraded its website, but as months went by the company wasn’t happy with the results they were seeing. “We had invested a lot of time and energy into building the new website”, says Allied CFO, Lisa Olsen. “We were getting some activity, but not what we were looking for.” So they brought in Kris Gragson at GK Media to help.
GK Media provided local SEO for Allied’s website to boost organic traffic from the Long Beach area. This moved Allied to the top of the first page in Google for most key search times related to gaskets and packing. It also worked on Allied’s Google My Business listing, which continues to receive attention each week. To reach areas outside Long Beach, where SEO is much less effective due to Google algorithms, GK Media implemented a Google AdWords campaign targeting carefully chosen markets in Texas, Oregon, Washington state, and California, as well as several foreign countries. .
The website is now generating more than three and a half times the volume of visitors it had when GK Media began work. “Kris also taught me all about Google Ads, which has been working well for us,” says Lisa.
The Result: Sales Maintained during the Pandemic
“Despite Covid, our sales in 2020 equaled our sales from 2018”, says Lisa. “And 12 percent came from the website. Our international sales were a nice surprise. Because of the website, orders have come in from all over the world, including Canada, Indonesia, Australia, and Iraq.”
Lisa appreciates that Kris checks in once a month to go over analytics and reports. She says, “He’s definitely made a huge difference.”
